For the third challenge of the Ironhack’s pre-work, the objective was to create a case study putting ourselves in the shoes of a specific consumer target and identify areas of improvement of a travel application of our selection.

I compared the Kayak, Tripadvisor and Skyscanner apps, and and I used the 10 Nielsen principles to perform heuristic evaluation of the usability of the 3 applications, in my case I went with KAYAK.

We also had to follow certain steps in order to really understand the perspective of this consumer target, which in this case I chose:

For the second challenge of the UX/UI Design Ironhack Pre-work , I had to create a wireframe from an app that I liked and prototype it.

Let’s remember what is wireframing exactly:

Wireframes are used early in the development process to establish the basic structure of a page before visual design and content is added. Wireframing is a way to design a website service at the structural level.

I looked for designs that were in accordance with what I consider effective but simple, on the other hand, I decided to look for references of apps with outstanding interface designs. …

City Mapper app

City Mapper is a public transit and mapping service which displays transport options, usually with live timing, between any two locations in a supported city. It integrates data for all urban means of transportation, including walking, cycling and driving, in addition to public transport.

For the first pre-work challenge, we were asked to create a feature for this app that solves the pain of having to purchase different public transport tickets by different channels.
